For me, becoming a Samaritans listening volunteer has been tough, but rewarding. I’ve only been on the phones for a short while, but I like to think the calls we take make a real difference to peoples’ lives. 

Since finding out that we (volunteers) have to fundraise £26,000 a year just to keep the call centre open, I’ve wanted to help. I’ve chosen to  throw myself into a gruelling olympic-sized triathlon…with a sea swim…and punchy North Devon hills. I expect this is going to take me 4+ hours.
