Asics British 10K London Run 2011 · 10 July 2011 ·

In August 2016, Depression Alliance merged with Mind, the mental health charity. We believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone. We’re here for you. Money you donate here will be used exclusively for services previously run by Depression Alliance, e.g. Friends in Need.

Story

Thank you so much for your kind donations in support of the Depression Alliance.  Through my own life experience and the work that I do, supporting people who have depression is something I feel very strongly about.  When you have depression, the urge is to isolate yourself and become passive.  But so often connecting with people and exercising is the tonic needed to help you through and in the British 10K on 10th July it was fantastic to see our Depression Alliance team putting that into action.  After an enforced 5 month lay-off from competing, I was thrilled with my run which I did in a PB of 40:36.  I was 104th overall and 4th woman to finish.  Again thank you all for your support of the Depression Alliance and your unwavering support and belief in me.  Looking forward to seeing some of you on September 25th in Warsaw and October 9th in Liverpool.  With lots of love, LucyX
