Run for Mum · 22 March 2020 ·
On Mother’s Day, Target Ovarian Cancer have organised a fundraising 10k in Hyde Park called ‘Run For Mum’, which I will be “running” alongside my mum and Will. Many of you will not know this, but I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer just before my GCSEs, and underwent successful surgery to remove both ovaries. This was the start of a journey filled with hormone therapy and regular scans, through which my closest family and friends have been at my side. Two of those who supported me the most will be joining me on the 22nd March, and we will run to celebrate the fact I will soon hit the 5-year clear mark! Whilst I was lucky enough to have been treated before the cancer spread, 2/3 of women are not. Target Ovarian Cancer is a charity trying to change this. Please give what you can - I never thought cancer would affect me so directly, but it did, and it will affect us all.
Target Ovarian Cancer is the UK’s leading ovarian cancer charity working to improve early diagnosis, fund life-saving research and provide much-needed support to women with ovarian cancer. Find out more about what they do at https://www.targetovariancancer.org.uk/
