At Asthma + Lung UK, our vision is for a world where everyone has healthy lungs. From research and campaigning to advice and support, as the UK’s lung charity we’re on a mission to change the way that lung health is perceived. Because breath is life - and that’s worth fighting for.

Story

On Sunday 16th June I will be taking part in the Great North Swim in lake Windermere. I will be swimming 1mile for The British Lung Foundation and in memory of my Father-in-law John Dickson and more recenty my Mother-in-law Marie Dickson, who both passed away unexpectedly from a lung related disease, both aged only 57.

One person in five in the UK is affected by lung disease. Millions more are at risk. The British Lung foundation reaches out to people who are frightened and debilitated by lung disease, from mild asthma to lung cancer, and fund vital research so that new treatments and cures can help to save lives.

Now for those of you who aren't aware swimming 1mile is the equivilant to swimming just over 64 lengths of a regular 25m pool. I'm hoping to complete the mile in around 30mins, so please help show your support by donating to this worthy cause.
