Story
Rachel and I will be running 100km each throughout May to raise money for a registered charity set up to support families of children with complex needs to enjoy a fully accessible camping holiday. Camp Jojo provides all the physical, emotional and practical support needed to make camping not just an experience but a relaxing break for the whole family. Camp Jojo shows that ‘everybody can’.
Lockdown has been so hard for our Camp Jojo families, many of our families have spent the majority of the past year shielding. What can already feel like an isolating situation fraught with fighting for services, lockdown has deepened that lack of connection and tangible support.
Everyday in May, Rachel and I will get up and run to complete 200k. We will get tired - it will not compare to all those parents who get up everyday caring and loving, no matter the weather or how exhausted they feel.
Even the smallest donation will make a massive difference. There will be times where we will want to give up - in the rain, at 6am, after a takeaway and a glass of gin. We will keep putting one foot in front of the other just like all those families loving young people with complex needs full of love, joy, passion and hard work.
Your donations will be spent to ensure families get to enjoy a unique and memorable experience together.
Thank you,
