I will be running the London Marathon for Action Medical Research - a UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research.

Almost everyone has been touched in some way by the charity's breaking work, such as the development of the rubella vaccine, ultrasound technology in pregnancy and the discovery of the importance of folic acid to prevent spina bifida in babies.

The prospects for finding new cures, vaccinations and treatments are excellent thanks to recent advances in science and medicine. However, the lack of funding for medical research is the biggest obstacle to achieving breakthroughs for children.

Running my first ever marathon will be a HUGE challenge for me, but I am determined to cross that finish line! I would massively appreciate any support you can provide - either laughing at me on the day or any pounds you can spare for Action Medical Research!
