Story
Prior to 2020 Lucy was In a great deal of pain and discomfort which despite the best efforts of many doctors over a period of time still remained undiagnosed.
In 2020 she was referred to Sheffield Childrens Hospital and was quickly diagnosed with Crohn’s disease following an endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Although it was a shock to receive such a life changing diagnosis, the Childrens Hospital were quick to commence treatment and looked after Lucy all the way through treatments which included a strong course a steroids and a six week liquid only diet.
Lucy continues to have regular blood tests and check ups as well as adhering to a strict diet.
As she now comes to terms with living with the disease she and her friend Abbie wanted to raise some money to thank the many staff members who helped her through a traumatic period of her life, including the dieticians, IBD Nurses and her Consultants..
Lucy and Abbie will cycle for 30 kilometres on the weekend of the 13 - 14 March 2021 to raise as much money as they can.
