The Grand Brighton Half Marathon 2020 · 23 February 2020 ·

GIST Cancer UK works to help patients and families affected by GIST - a rare cancer. We provide a patient support network and host meetings for patients and health professionals. We fund research to improve understanding and find treatments for GIST cancer as well as a specialist PAWS-GIST Clinic.

Story

I expect you're thinking not another charity request...

I'm attempting to 'run' the 13 mile Brighton Half Marathon on 23rd February - to raise funds for GIST Support UK.

As some will know, my friend Charlotte was diagnosed in September 2019 with a Gastro-Intestinal stromal tumour (GIST). It is a very rare cancer and only about 700 people are diagnosed in the UK each year.

This charity aims to support GIST patients, find further treatments and ultimately a cure for GIST.

Therefore I would be most grateful if you could support this charity with a few pennies...it will help spur me on when I'm being overtaken by people in their 80s and dressed as a rhinoceros. Thank you so much for your support.
