Lucy puts herself through lots of pain · 15 September 2019

On 31st December 2019 OSARCC will turn 40, and we need your help more than ever before. We're asking you to help us raise £40,000 to help sustain and grow our vital services for survivors, as part of our #riseup campaign

Story

It's that time of year again, folks: I challenge myself to move these little legs as fast as possible over a specified distance, and you pay for the entertainment value.  All proceeds go to Oxfordshire Sexual Abuse and Rape Crisis Centre, which offers a wide range of free, confidential support services to survivors of sexual violence (as well as being my place of work).

But I figure I need to up my game this year, not least because 2019 is a big birthday for OSARCC.  I'll be running not one, not two, but three half marathons this autumn - totalling 40 miles* to celebrate our 40 years:

Sunday 15th September - Great Bristol Half Marathon

Saturday 28th September - Milton Keynes Half Marathon

Sunday 13th October - Oxford Half Marathon

(*well okay, technically only 39.3 miles but I'm hoping no one will begrudge me 0.7 miles!  I'll throw in a warm-up somewhere.)

Help ease my suffering by donating whatever you can to this incredible cause: statutory funding is becoming scarcer and scarcer, so we're having to rely more and more on funds we can raise ourselves.  Even just a fiver could be someone's transport to their counselling session, or a crisis support call with our helpline.  I'd like to raise £500 because this is roughly the amount it costs OSARCC to train and support each of the volunteers who deliver this work.

Thank you,

Lucy

P.S. I'll be posting lots of training updates below, if you want to see this suffering with your own eyes.
