Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

In March 23 my Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, a condition which my Grandma also suffered from. For those of you who don’t know Parkinson’s Disease is a neurological condition that is degenerative. Meaning that there is no cure and over time his condition will progress and worsen. Parkinson’s affects muscle control, balance and movement, as well as effecting other senses, thinking ability and mental health.

Although there is medication, physio and speech & language therapy there is no current cure. Meaning in the upcoming years I will have to watch my Dad slowly deteriorate. For those of you that are lucky enough to have met my family know how close we all are. My family and especially my dad mean the world to me. So this 21.1km is for the strongest man I know. I am by no means a runner, but I’m committed to run every step with the same determination my dad demonstrates in his daily life.

If you’re in a position which you are financially able , I’m asking for donations for this amazing charity. Your contribution will help fund vital research and support services and raise awareness.
