Story
Leah and I will be joining in with the 99 miles in November to raise as much money as we can for brain tumour research.
This year our close friend Emily suffered from headaches and a few unexpected seizures. She was taken into hospital to have an MRI where a Brain Tumour was discovered and it was the size of an orange, on the 7th of June.
Between then and August Emily spent a lot of time going to appointments at the RVI, where the neurologists figured out what they wanted to do, resulting in treatment beginning on the 7th of August - Emily had brain surgery.
However when she woke up Emily was paralysed completely on her left side of her body. Emily was determined and everyday she spent time working on walking and using her left side again. Emily was then called back a few weeks following her surgery, to be told she has a low grade cancerous type of brain tumour. This is called a Grade 2 Diffuse Astrocytoma.
As difficult as this has been for Emily, Dec her boyfriend, her family and her friends, Emily has tried to stay as positive as she can. We couldn’t be prouder of our gorgeous, strong Emily🩷
