Hadrian's Wall Trek · 14 August 2010
Hello everyone
On the weekend of 14th / 15th August, I'm going to be hiking along Hadrian's Wall for the Karen Morris Memorial Trust. The charity provides facilities for thousands of leukaemia patients and their families every year, the main focus of which is Karen's 'Home from Home' - a series of comfortable and private hospice facilities. The first was opened at the Hammersmith Hospital in January 2007, the second at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford in July 2009 and the third is scheduled to open in 2011 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. To find out more about the KMMT’s amazing services, please visit www.kmmt.org.uk
The Karen Morris Memorial Trust was set up to continue the
fundraising initiative of a 23 year old student who passed away in 1998, just one year after being diagnosed with chronic
myeloid leukaemia. The facilities enable families to spend time together in comfort and privacy during a very difficult time.
Now, you know I'm built for comfort, not speed - hiking 25 miles in a couple of mornings isn't going to be like my usual strolls down Brighton sea front, so I would appreciate all the support you can give. I'll bring you back some kendal mint cake (with choclit on it, of course...)!
Please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you very much!
