On the 22nd of June 2019 I will be taking part in a charity football match for The Archie Foundation along side my colleagues in Team Fire (The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service) against Team Police (Police Scotland) at the Balmoral Stadium in Cove, Aberdeen.

The idea of this event is for each player from both sides to be given a mascot for the day and in the instance of this event a child whom has benefited from The Archie Foundation.

My mascot for the day is 5 year old Lucy Liles from Ellon in Aberdeenshire. When Lucy was born she was diagnosed with a chronic, life threatening illness called an Adrenal Insufficiency. Lucy has to take meds 4 times a day for life. Her body cant deal with illness or injury so she has had many short term admissions to hospital. Speaking to her mother Rebecca its clear to see that Lucy has benefited greatly from The Archie Foundation during all her hospital trips and Lucy and her family feel its time to give something back.
