Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

On the 15th June 2021, i am planning to take part in climbing the 3 highest peaks (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon) in the Uk in just 36hours! We are working through Reading university and choose challenge to raise as much money possible for Marie Curie. Not only is this a challenge it is also a personal goal:

After falling extremely ill at the age of 13 I always wanted to defeat the odds, whether it be walking again after being paralysed or getting into university with little qualification I knew I what wanted to achieve. As soon as I saw the Three peaks challenge I knew I had to do it. I wanted to prove that to my self and to others that I am strong and well despite my illness this doesn't make me weak. It is a very personal goal and achievement for me.

I have extreme empathy for the work the charity undertakes for those who are terminally ill as I understand the true work that takes place for the people and the families to ensure it is as comfortable and stress free environment as possible.

As little as £20 can pay for a Marie Curie nurse to visit for one hour. Specially now more than ever people need this service, day and night the nurses are on hand.
