Story
Cold waters, currents, and …sharks? Alcatraz is famous for being an impossible to escape from prison, largely due to the difficult swim to shore. At around 10-15°c the waters are chilly, with currents gushing through the 2 mile swim back to shore, and sharks patrolling the bottom of the waters (probably). The swim may be difficult, but it’s also going to be epic! In May 2025 I’ll be taking on this incredible challenge and swimming from Alcatraz to Crissy Field in San Francisco to help raise vital funds for Velindre. By donating you’ll be helping to fund a range of services that go above and beyond the NHS and ultimately improving the emotional care and wellbeing of patients.
