London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·

WellChild is the national charity for sick children. We provide essential practical and emotional support for seriously ill children, young people and those who care for them across the UK to ensure they receive the best possible quality of care.

Story

I initially agreed to run my first ever marathon in April 2020, with training going really well until Covid-19 hit and threw our norm out of the window.

I ran the Virtual London Marathon in October 2020, after a long gap in training, so it was pretty hard work! But I had raised 50% of my target and felt I wanted to do something to say thank you to all of those who supported me.

Now I am back, ready to run the distance again and really looking forward to running the real marathon through the streets of London.

Training is back in full swing, and I'm looking forward to the challenge.

This is a great charity for me to support, both through my employers and also because it is the kind of charity that means a lot to me on a personal level; having grown up with a sister with a disability, charities like WellChild are so important at giving children opportunities and experiences that are so essential to them and their families.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, please follow my journey, and I thank you all for any donations you give.

Our vision at NFA Group is to build incredible futures by empowering vulnerable young people in the UK to be happy and make their way in the world. Every day we improve the lives of thousands of young people, their families and communities through a relentless focus on caring and learning. This year Team NFA Group will be running the London Marathon to support WellChild, the national charity for sick children. With more than 100,000 children and young people living across the UK with serious illness or exceptional health needs, WellChild operates a UK-wide network of children’s nurses, home and garden transformation projects and family support services that exist to give this growing population of children and young people the best possible chance to thrive – properly supported at home, together with their families. It’s amazing to think that the money we raise will make such a difference to very sick children. #dreambig #believeyoucan #dotherightthing
