I'm running the Sheffield Half Marathon in memory of my brilliant friend Jake, who died in December 2012 due to an undiagnosed brain tumour. Jake was only 24, and is loved and missed by everyone who knew him.

The Jake McCarthy Foundation was set up by his family in 2013 to raise awareness of the symptoms of brain tumours, fund research and ensure early diagnosis. Raising money for the foundation will help prevent other families from experiencing such a tragic and devastating loss.
