Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2020 has indeed been a weird year so far, with families having to adapt so quickly to working from home and teaching our children.
No more so than for families with child development disabilities like Autism.
"Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how people perceive the world and interact with others.
Autistic people see, hear, and feel the world differently to other people. If you are autistic, you are autistic for life; autism is not an illness or disease and cannot be 'cured'. Often people feel being autistic is a fundamental aspect of their identity."
Autism is a spectrum condition. All autistic people share certain difficulties, but being autistic will affect them in different ways. Some autistic people also have learning disabilities, mental health issues or other conditions, meaning people need different levels of support. All people on the autism spectrum learn and develop. With the right sort of support, all can be helped to live a more fulfilling life of their own choosing.

5 years ago, our family moved back to the UK based upon the Irish Health service advice as we had suspicions that our son was autistic.
Luckily we moved back to an area that had a great system and understanding of Autism and continue to help us to this day.
Our second child is about to go through the same support group & service and I am very grateful for all the help and assistance we have been given.
That being said there is still a lot of help and support that needs to be given to families.
Almost every encounter & conversation, I have with other parents, who can relate to this support/process. Is things that can be improved.
I am still shocked that people are STRUGGLING to get their children the support they require to get them the best help and start in life.
On the 28th August - 29th August 2020 we are going to help raise awareness and support for the National Autistic Society.
We will work with other streamers the week prior to the event with build-up streams so as many people can take part as possible.
The National Autistic Society helps some of the 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.
A Charity for autistic people and their families. Their goal is to help transform lives, change attitudes, and create a society that works for autistic people.
This is something very very close to my family's heart and I would appeal to all of you to dig deep and help us with donations for this amazing cause.
Thank you.
