Story
Hello, I'm Luisa. Thank you for visiting my page.
I'm honoured to be running the London Marathon on 28 April 2019 in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
In September 2018 my partner Mike's dear mum Mildred died of cancer; twenty years earlier he lost his sister Heather, also to breast cancer. That's when the family learned about the BRCA1 gene, which makes women susceptible to breast cancer and men to male breast cancer (yes, that's a thing) and prostate cancer. Since then, Mike and two of his three daughters have discovered they have the BRCA1 gene, and one of them has also been treated for cervical cancer.
And Macmillan Cancer Support has been with them every step of the way.
Their story might sound extreme, but it's not that unusual. Just stop and think for a moment about everyone you know - relatives, friends, maybe even you - who've suffered from cancer, and you'll realise it touches every one of us in some way. And when it does, Macmillan Cancer Support will be there with help, advice, and care for the patient, their family and friends.
I would be hugely grateful if you could donate to my page to help this wonderful cause - and it's a cliche I know, but every little helps. And if you or your business can help with fundraising please do get it touch.
Thank you so much for your support
Luisa
