one step a new house · 1 December 2010
Every 26 minutes a Habitat house is completed somewhere in the world! And for that, we thank you! We couldn't do it without your support. Please help us continue the good work in Comanesti, Romania where, with your support, (Antotochi Ioan, Nedelcu Vasile, Nistor Dumitru, Epure Ioan) 4 families will spend the winter in decent housing conditions.
No
contribution is a small contribution! The sooner we reach our target amount for
this project, the sooner (Antotochi Ioan, Nedelcu Vasile, Nistor Dumitru, Epure
Ioan) families will start a new life. To find out more about the project,
progress, and other ways to help please visit http://www.habitatcomanesti.
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit ecumenical Christian organization that builds homes and renovates houses for those in need. HFHI looks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent living conditions for the poor an issue of conscience and action.
Habitat renovates and builds simple and decent houses with the help of partner families, volunteer work and donations of money and materials that can be tax deductible. Habitat houses are sold to partner families without profit, benefiting from a non-interest mortgage loan.
Monthly installments are paid by owners of a Habitat for Humanity house enter a Rotation Fund - money that can be used for building other houses. Habitat works through local affiliates who fund raise all over the world to build homes. Those working in developing countries receive funding from HFH International.
All of the affiliates of HFH are asked to give a tithe – 10% from their contribution to finanace construction of houses in other countries. Habitat is not a charity program. In addition to payment installments and the monthly mortgage rate, the owners invest hundreds of hours of work – contribution through from themselves and friends and family – to build their own houses and the houses of others.
