Luke & Gary's Station To Station Cycle page

Station To Station Cycle · 18 April 2023
Hello,
On 18th April myself and fellow Firefighter Gary will be cycling over 200 miles from Rye Fire Station to Hove Fire station, stopping at every fire station in East Sussex along the way, in order to raise money for The brain tumour charity.
The brain tumour charity is very close to our hearts having lost our dear colleague and friend Paul Balch (Balchy) and family friend Chris Sharp (Sharpie) to brain tumours in 2021.
In 2018 we sadly lost another dear friend and colleague Emma. Emma was the kindest, most gentle soul who always put others first, Emma would light every Room with her smile and I know she is greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
In England, more than 16,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year, of which only 12% survive beyond 5 years of their diagnosis. Brain cancer kills more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other type of cancer and yet it has the lowest amount of funding and research.
Just £250 could cover the cost of giving 10 Children and their families the immediate support and information they need following the heartbreaking diagnosis.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated on our journey to help raise funds for this amazing charity.
Thank you
Luke & Gary
