UK-based charity with a Zambian & Malawian operation. We use a simple Smartphone App to connect rural health care centres in Zambia and Malawi, with over 250 volunteer Doctors, based in the UK. The volunteer doctors offer advice to diagnose conditions, treat patients and prescribe medicine.

Story

As you know, I run quite a lot. I do it for me, because I like it.

All those times you've said 'great, can I sponsor you?'...and I've said 'no, I'm just running for me'. Well, now you can!

It's not my longest run, it wont be my most gruelling, but it will be the most impactful on other people's lives....which makes me feel pretty great.

I'm running for an amazing small charity called The Virtual Doctors, who are a UK registered telemedicine charity and Zambian NGO. They provide smart phones with a specially written app to isolated health professionals, connecting them with volunteer doctors in the UK and Zambia. This enables them to offer diagnostic advice for complex cases, to educate, empower and ultimately to save lives.

You can read all about the great work they do, the impact they make, and their plans for the future with your donations, on their website https://www.virtualdoctors.org/

I'd love you see you there on race day too - less than 2 weeks away on Sunday, 13 October - and I will of course provide beers afterwards as a small token of my gratitude for your support.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page, and for reading right to the end :)

Love as always, Luke
