I am trying to give a helping hand to the ex-child soldiers of Uganda to recover from war by raising as much money as I can whilst I walk 10km from today to Sunday 9th January. Sadly during the 20-year period of civil wars, 30,000 children were abducted to fight in the War. Traumatising events happened to these children after being forced into violence and the commitment of atrocities. Girls and boys exposed to the horrors of war are often left with long-lasting psychological scars and frequently need psychosocial support upon their release. Third Hope is set up in Bushey by my school’s ex-teacher. Every penny I raise will be going straight to the charity to assist them in setting up more projects, and to help ex-child soldiers recovering and achieving a better life.
