SpecialEffect Charity 10K Run - Richmond RunFest

Richmond RUNFEST Kew Gardens 10K 2020 · 12 September 2020 to 13 September 2020 ·
SpecialEffect enable disabled people to use technology to play video games.
Harnessing whichever part(s) of their body that work best, SpecialEffect take time to understand and adapt technology to their very individual needs – whether that be chin, foot, finger, toe, ankle, knee or head control – or all of those, they’ll find a way. It’s so important that everyone can join in with family, friends and the gaming community, to be included and not left out.
All too often a disability can leave a person ‘on the sidelines’, unable to take part and experience all the fun and inclusion that we know games can bring. Being included hugely benefits mental wellbeing and quality of life, and brings some much needed FUN! Their aim is to enable anyone who needs their support to be able to play the games they want to play.
SpecialEffect are a service for life, as and when things need to be adapted or altered (due to a progressive condition where needs change such as muscular dystrophy or spinal muscular atrophy where muscles weaken over time), and of course when new games are released or the person is ready to take on their next challenge or would like to try something new to keep their interest up, SpecialEffect are there to help.
