Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those that know me will be able to appreciate that I do not look like your typical Marathon runner and I am more use on a rugby field!
Well the last few years I've played very little rugby and have instead been watching it usually in the pub with a pint in my hand! This combined with an expensive gym membership that has been used more for the sauna and steam rooms as opposed to the weights room makes the Marathon for me the ulitimate challenge!
Training began slowly towards the end of last year and is going well although I had forgotten how painful hill runs were! Despite this with gritted teeth I've been ticking the sessions off day by day and will continue to do so.
More recently it's been made harder with a nasty injury, hospital visits and scans and the odd painkiller which has meant little training in the final 5 weeks. This makes the challenge twice as tough however I'm grateful to be on the start line and I'm determined to be at that finish line with a medal round my neck!!
Please please if you are able to, make a donation for Cafod, a fantastic charity doing awesome work all over for some of the worlds poorest people.
Thank you
