Story
Hi, my name is Luke, I'm from Stockport, and from Noon THIS Thursday 30th March 2017 I will be living in a glass box at the Tesco Extra store in Stockport to help Caudwell Children generate more understanding of autism.
The 3m x 2m glass box will be located in the busy foyer of the store, so I will be eating, sleeping and generally keeping myself entertained in full view of the public. As it's open 24 hours, you will be able to see me all hours of the day and night.
Mobile phones and gadgets are banned inside the box, so I will need your company!
Why am I doing this?
It may seem like a fun challenge, but there is a more serious side to what i am doing.
Many parents of children with autism have told Caudwell Children that living with autism is sometimes like living in a glass box. The difficulty in communication, a sense of feeling isolated and being starred at from all angles is what some children with the condition often experience.
Staff and volunteers from the charity will be on hand throughout, to answer questions and offer advice and information on 'all things autism.' All being well, we will have plenty of media coverage too, which will help put the condition in the spotlight.
Please support
All money raised will stay local to help support autistic children across Stockport - you can donate on this page, in-store once the challenge gets underway or via your phone:
Text: LIFA83 £amount 70070
Please help get the word out on social media, and of course it would be great if you could pop to see me in the glass box during the 50 hour challenge!
Best wishes,
Luke
