Story

I am swimming in the Dee Mile race in the River Dee on Saturday 30 May and I'm told the water temperature is likely to be a toasty (?!) 14 degrees!

It's called the Dee Mile, but I will actually be doing the 1km option - it's my first time so I'm seeing how I go!

I've chosen to swim for Macmillan because they do great work across the UK helping those affected by cancer. They aim to ensure that nobody faces cancer alone and also lobby for better cancer care. So definitely a cause worth supporting. I lost a family member to cancer in 2013, so it's something close to me too.

Macmillan is also Liverpool Roller Birds' (my roller derby team's) charity of the year!

Thanks for any contribution you can make, no matter how small.
