On Thursday 29 September 2011, I will be modelling at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Glasgow in the Breast Cancer Care Fashion Show along with 18 other women and 1 man. This will be the first time any of us have ever been on a professional catwalk.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37 and again at 40 and have had surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormone treatment.  I have also been identified as a carrier of the BRCA 2 gene mutation which increases my risk for certain cancers and I still require to have more surgery in the future.

There are more than half a million people in the UK today who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and almost 50,000 more will be given the devastating news that they have breast cancer in the next 12 months. On 23/8/2011 I was diagnosed with a recurrence to chest wall lymph nodes and awaiting tests to find out what treatment I will need... I still fully intend to get up on that runway on the 29th of Sept!
