11.18 Update! I have received gift cards from two very generous local businesses to incentivize donors. The first 2 people to donate $100 will receive a $50 Tiff's Treats gift card and the first person to donate $250 will receive a $150 Uchi/Uchiko gift card! My name is Ben Hofer, founder of the non-profit "LunchCounts!" In the past 2 years, I have raised over $15,000 for kids in Central Texas who accumulated school lunch debt. I don't think that any kids or parents should be burdened with debt just to have a healthy meal at school. This year, however, because many kids are not in school, there will likely be little to no school lunch debt. But there will still be many hungry kids! The school districts and the Central Texas Food Bank have put in place many incredible programs to make sure kids don't go hungry but those programs historically have not covered school holiday periods. So, I have decided to partner with the Central Texas Food Bank and raise money for kids who may not have enough food during the holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and more. Your donation will go directly to food for kids in Central Texas, as the Food Bank will have food specifically for school-aged kids and their families over the holidays. Anyone can help and any donation is greatly appreciated!
Also, The Central Texas Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and your contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law!
