Story

2022 is the year that Lou joins friends to complete what she describes as a staggered triathlon.

After the past few years that have seen many fundraising opportunities cancelled due to the pandemic, Sue and I have decided that 2022 is the year the LUSU Tandem bike comes back into action!! We did say ‘never again’ but it seems we didn’t say it loud enough!

So to add to the fun, I have also decided to create Lou’s staggered Triathlon, which will see me attempt to complete 3 events, 1 per month in June, July & August.

  • SWIM - June - Coniston End to End (5.25 miles)

  • BIKE - July - London to Brighton Bike ride (100 km on the back of a Tandem)

  • WALK - August - 4 day circuit-trek around Mont Blanc

I have had a set back with training, so as my birthday arrives today, so the training commences - I need to get fit!!

The charities that I am completing this for will be The Dan Maskell Trust and Women v Cancer.

The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust raises funds for disabled people who play tennis, a charity which LUSU has had the pleasure of working with and sees how  tennis can transform lives at all levels.

Women v Cancer - as we launch this page on International Womens Day, and as I have seen first hand family members and friends affected by cancer, it is close to my heart.

So if you see me, remind me I need to train! Come and help me train, and if you can, please support the fundraising page.

I couldn't do this without a load of friends participating in the events with me - you know who you are and many thanks, I will need as much help as possible :)

Many thanks

One Crazy Lou & Sue!

The Trust raises funds for disabled people who play tennis - wheelchair, deaf, learning disabilities and the visually impaired. Sport can be life-changing for a person with a disability and tennis provides physical wellbeing and social opportunities as well as competition for those who want it.
