We fund services for local asylum seekers to relieve poverty and distress

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Staff, family and friends LUV and Two Mindful Bees are doing the 10K walk to raise funds for SDCAS – a charity that helps relieve the poverty and distress of Asylum Seekers and Refugees. They provide much-needed holistic and vital activities such as hot meals, legal advice, English classes, storytelling, creche facilities, socialising and many more. Like many charities, they are badly affected by diminishing funding during this pandemic but continue to work tirelessly to combat the ever-growing poverty, health inequalities and exclusion faced by marginalised and destitute Asylum Seekers and Refugees.

Together, we will be walking 10 km along the River Thames, passing 4 bridges and 2 tunnels on Saturday 8th October 2022.

We’d love it if you could join us on the walk or support us by donating (however big or small), or words of encouragement will be good too.

We have a few little feet and a small four-legged friend walking with us so your support and encouragement will greatly help us on our way.

About the charity

SDCAS aims to relieve poverty and distress among asylum seekers and refugees in the London Borough of Southwark. Since the start of the pandemic, SDCAS has been providing urgent services including a weekly food bank, deliveries, and a remote advice service. Thank you for supporting our vital work.
