Story
I know I'm not the only accident prone person in the world but I'm constantly being reminded about the event, even more so that even my children are reminding me and they weren't even born...
So I went to my twin girls parent's evening In March and reading through one the books I got a mention..interesting.
"Daddy fell down a Cliff" well it's partly correct, more like Screaming down a Cliff!!
The short story, We lived in Cornwall at the time and I decided to go fishing but instead of taking the long way around the top I decided to scramble up as that is what I did in my spare time. I got stuck and then I fell, I got airlifted from the beach and then the rest is History. I suffered several fractured fingers, busted ribs, damaged hip and the usual muscle trauma associated with falling from height.
That was in 2007, the girls were born 6 months later so I was meant to be alive....Roar 😁
I started running which was a little difficult with one leg but one did try. I completed 2 Marathons for BREASTCANCERCARE, Trekked for OXFARM, Completed 2 x Sprint Triathlons for SCOPE..and during the process I taught myself to SWIM 😨. Cycled and swore a lot and spent a fortune on Deep Tissue Massage and Osteopathy fees ( Osteolife).
In July 2016 I succumbed to surgery and had a Total Hip Replacement..that went fine. 2017 was the year of transition, boredom and beer. I rejoined a Gym and have started training again and decided to search for a new challenge..100 miles Phaw...How hard can it BE!
For the record I do sports not for personal glory but to maintain my Sanity.....smallprint.
Children With CANCER do an amazing job and I hope I'm never in the daunting position as many families find themselves in everyday.
Give us much as you can afford as I know we are in tight times...Bless.
