Lea's Winter Walk for Endo 2024

Winter Walk for Endo 2024 · 22 January 2024 to 29 January 2024 ·
This January, I'm taking part in the Winter Walk for Endo to ensure that everyone with endometriosis gets on the right pathway to care. Endometriosis is a chronic pain and inflammation condition that affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth. Those suffering with this condition are often faced with making challenging and difficult decisions during diagnosis, treatment and management of endometriosis. Endometriosis UK exists to offer support and reliable information as well as fight and campaign for change and better treatment options.
I was misdiagnosed for 15 years with IBS, when in reality I had deep penetrating stage 4 endometriosis on multiple organs and Adenomyosis. Unfortunately there is no cure, only temporary treatments which may or may not relieve the pain and symptoms. Endometriosis can result in infertility, urostomy, illiostomy, cysts, hysterectomy at a young age. The lack of knowledge from healthcare professionals who are not Endometriosis specialists is worrying and women are still needing to fight that a painful period that causes vomiting, passing out and doubling over in pain, is NOT normal.
We need better knowledge, to result in better care.
Please donate to this wonderful charity and join me in raising awareness for Endometriosis UK.
