Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page

In 2008 I cycled from London to Paris in memory of my late partner Ed Hill for Macmillan Cancer support. Ed sadly lost his short battle in 2006 so I threw myself into something positive.  He loved cycling and so did I so it seemed fitting.

Several years on  I've witnessed more cancer battles that friends and family members have had to endure so I have decided to take on a new challenge.....  Running!!! This is very much out of my comfort zone but have thrown myself into it. I shall be running the Cardiff half marathon in October 2015 with the support of Paul and my family.

I signed up in the new year but a week later I was facing a scare myself. .. After a routine smear I was given the news that the results were highly suspicious of cancer , this news dropped me to the floor but I had immediate treatment followed by more  to get rid of the nasties.  Big thanks to Paul and Mum who were there when i recieved the news and for the few months i endured treatment. The 2nd treatment worked and i was given the all clear  and I can't tell you how lucky I have been so ladies reading this don't put it off!!!

My training began in April once I was up to it so I'm a little behind than planned. People of kingsland will see "the pink plodder"  pounding the roads at silly o'clock. Just to add to my plight of fundraising I contracted meningitis in October 2013 and therefore my fitness deterioted. Any form of fitness has been harder since........running is really not me but I'm putting every effort in to it.

St michael's offers a fantastic service and care packages. My grandad is currently recieving massages to ease the pain in his legs. Herefordshire are really fortunate to have this facility as we all know someone effected.  So please donate.

Thank you,

Lydia. Xx
