Story

Hello!

I cannot not think of a better charity to run the marathon for than Lymphoma Action. After beginning this journey, our beautiful friend Pammy lost her fight with Lymphoma. I will be running the marathon in memory of her, please donate so we can work towards a cure for this devastating cancer.

Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer, which particularly affects younger generations. They've been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Their work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma.

Most of you will know me, but if not- I'm Lydia, a 25 year old Global Health and Development MSc student at UCL. This is my first ever marathon, and to put it lightly- I am terrified! Living with a connective tissue disorder, this will be the hardest challenge of my life and all I hope for is to reach the finish line before the seven hours is up!

My training

Having never run a marathon or a half marathon (aside from a half-marathon night walk which was very fun) before, I will training very hard over the coming months to increase my running distance. I am very active and love cycling, skiing and bootcamps, however long-distance and running is a challenge for me so please throw any tips my way!

Please donate as little or as much as you are able. Every donation goes a long way.
