We support Birmingham Children's Hospital to improve the lives of sick children

Story

As many people know, my mom Tracey Wilkinson and brother Pierce Wilkinson were murdered on 30th March 2017. My mom never made it to hospital, but Pippin did and was taken to Birmingham childrens Hospital. The staff at BCH were incredible and did all they could to save him, but being too badly injured, he couldn't be saved. For this reason I am raising money for the critical journeys appeal by running the Great Birmingham Run on 14th October 2018. This appeal is to equip four critical care ambulances with the latest equipment. I want their legacy to reflect how giving and loved they were, not the circumstances in how they passed away, and feel this is the best way I can do this. I can't bring my family back, but if this fundraiser saves one child in memory of my mom and Pippin, it will be incredible. They will never be forgotten.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
