Running for Solace Women's Aid!

Solace 40 Miles Challenge! · 2 January 2021
Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner in England and Wales alone.
During the month of January, I'm running 40 miles to raise support for victims of domestic violence. Solace provides life-saving services to survivors of abuse and violence. The 40 miles reflects Solace’s 40 safe shelter accommodation sites across the country for victims.
The effects of lockdown have been hard for so many of us. For domestic violence victims, the restrictions have often meant being confined with their abuser and having to deal with the consequences of that. A notable theme which has emerged during lockdown has been the use of technology to intimidate and control victims. Abusers have increasingly been using smart locks, webcams and social media, or sharing revenge porn to harass their targets. It is difficult to comprehend the lasting, damaging effects these restrictions will and already have had on so many families.
I appreciate any donation you can make to contribute to this cause, or if anything, you can enjoy the picture attached of a self-confessed 'non-runner' who will be completing this challenge. Thank you for taking the time to read about this!
