Why am I doing it?  I have always been incredibly proud of my niece Leanne Harper and just wanted to do something to make her proud of me for a change!  Leanne has Cystic Fibrosis (CF) which is a life shortening genetic disorder for which there is currently no cure. Leanne is amazing – she truly epitomises a CF Warrior – she just gets on with life and lives every moment to the full. She is an inspiration to so many, particularly those back home in the Isle of Man, showing others that with grit and determination you can still fulfil your dreams.  She climbed Kilimanjaro some years ago – what a fantastic achievement!    

Leanne has always had to be strong to deal with CF and this strength was something she had to draw upon earlier this year when sadly on 30th May she lost her partner and soul mate, Dan Kneen when he died racing in this IOM TT.  She was understandably devastated and heartbroken but has been incredibly strong whilst dealing with her grief and supporting his family through this tough time.  Life can be so very cruel and harsh when we least expect it to be.  It is so difficult to not be able to take away the hurt she is feeling but we know that she will find that inner strength to deal with this in time as she is one tough cookie.
