We did it!
This is a picture of kathryn and I just about to cross the finishing line after a gruelling 10km sprint (well ok trot - but it was still gruelling!)
As you know we were doing it to raise money for our choir's trip to Sierra Leone in October 2009. Eighteen of us are planning to travel to Sierra Leone to run musical workshops, visit schools and perform with local choirs. We'll also be handing over second-hand musical instruments that we have collected to the Ballanta national music academy, which has very few resources - we are currently packing more than fifty instruments for shipping later this month and will be able to take more smaller items as hand/hold luggage when we go in october so please keep your eyes open for any suitable unwanted items. For more info about the project visit

Thank you so much for all your support - it really helped to know that when the going got tough (and it did around 5km) my friends and family were prepared to part with their hard earned cash to spur me on - so I just had to stick with it! And if you didn't get round to making a donation before the race (or you wanted to make sure I actually did it before parting with your cash!) there's still time to make a contribution. Simply click on the donate now button above or, if you don't want to donate online, cheques will be very gratefully received - you can make them out either to me or Cantanti Camerati and send them to my home address (35, Pagoda Ave, Richmond, Surrey TW9 2HQ). There are more pictures of the event on my web gallery (
http://gallery.me.com/lynda.beament#100123) to amuse and entertain you!
Don't forget we also have a Cantanti concert coming up at St James' Piccadilly on 11th July

That's all for now but the site will remain active (ie open for donations!) for a couple more months so please encourage any mutual friends who you think haven't visited to take a look.
All the best
