Story

It has been 2 years since my mum, Valerie Forster, passed away. In her last days she resided in the Macmillan Caring Locally hospice in Christchurch, Dorset. They really were so incredibly supportive, both with mum but also with the rest of the family during this very difficult time. I'd love to give something back.

Whilst mum was at the hospice I composed a piece of music for her called 'Blackbird' and managed to play if for her before she died. The piece has evolved somewhat since I played it for her. I recently did a studio recording of it and added piano as well as handpan. I'd love to use this piece to help raise some funds for Macmillan Caring Local. Please consider downloading the track from Bandcamp - link below - (it is free to download) and donating something to this wonderful charity through this platform. I suggest a donation of £1 or more to download the track.

The blackbird is a very special bird in folklore. It is a herald of transition in life, a messenger of the heavens and a symbol of the higher spiritual path. This is not a sad piece of music, it is a celebration of life, love and family.
