Story

Raising Funds for the LifeLine Nehemiah Projects

Having been involved for many years with LifeLine Nehemiah Projects (LNP), part of LifeLine Network, I have always maintained the vision held by founder Richard Cole for the projects to become self-sufficient and not dependent on external aid.

Previously I've run the London Marathon to raise funds for the projects ongoing support but this year, on reaching 70, I wanted to do something a little different.

So, to celebrate my birthday and to move LNP a step closer to that self-sufficiency goal, I'm challenging myself to run 70 miles in the 7 days of the week I reach 70, in a bid to raise £4900.
Who knows, we might raise even more but that’s the goal; it has been said…

“If you have a goal, you could hit it; if you don’t, you’ll always miss it!”

It’s all a play on the number 70 of course, and a bit of fun really!

Challenge 70 starts on Monday, June 23rd, with my birthday occurring on the Tuesday, finishing on June 29th, and I’m hoping to get lots of others involved in a Grand Finale that Sunday morning.
So who’s up for joining me in the last 10 mile stint, even if you can only do part of it?

The funds raised will be set aside as “seed” money for start-up businesses which would have the potential to provide employment for LifeLine Home boys or folk in the local community, generate revenue to help expand the individual business projects and also generate income to sustain the LifeLine Boys Home.
