Lynn's BRAVE THE SHAVE

lynn gibbins is raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK
In memory of Avril Gibbins
It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

My mum Avril was a beautiful, amazing, caring, loving and brave woman who truly loved her family and friends. ❤️

On the 23rd December 2020 my mums and our family's lives fell apart when she was told the devastating news that she had Pancreatic Cancer. For months she fought the cancer but only 8 months from diagnosis, on the 25th August 2021 she sadly lost her battle with the disease and passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. 💔

In memory of my mum and turn so much pain and heartache into something positive I have decided to raise awareness and fundraise to help make a difference to others who are going through the same thing.

Pancreatic cancer is the 11th most common cancer in England and the 5th biggest cancer killer. It’s the deadliest common cancer, with the lowest survival of all common cancers. One-year survival in England is only 23.7% and five-year survival is only 6.9%.

It is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month in November so I will be taking on challenge24 and walking 2.4miles a day for 24 days as 24 people die each day from Pancreatic Cancer, I will also be doing a 5k run, walking up Snowdon, cake sale and raffle. Once I have raise the money for the charity I will be braving the shave!! - and no I haven't gone mad. 😁🤣😁

So if you can please help donate, big or small and share this page I would really appreciate your help.

Together we can make a difference.        💜💜💜

Thank you.
