Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is Lynne and I am a 30 year old Legal Executive from Carnoustie. At the age of 28, I was diagnosed with Viral Meningitis. A disease that is very often misunderstood by doctors, nurses and those who have never experienced it’s unpredictable grasp on the human body. Although I was very lucky to make a recovery, even 18 months later I still suffer from after effects. Such after effects include migraines, memory loss, co-ordination issues and speech problems. Meningitis is such a life-changing disease, where it’s effects can be shocking and sometimes even fatal.

Meningitis Research Foundation is a charitable cause who has three objectives: to see fewer people get meningitis and septicaemia; to see more people survive with a better quality of life and reduced disability; to have more engaged, informed and supported patients and communities.

Therefore, myself and my amazing friend Ethan will be training hard to overcome the challenge which is Tough Mudder. This will most definitely be the biggest challenge I’ve ever had to face since my diagnosis and I am determined to get to that finish line! With this, comes a rather challenging fundraising target of £700. But with your help, we hope to raise as much funds as possible towards this amazing charity. Please help us to not only reach our target, but to raise awareness of this awful disease!!
