This year I've decided to set myself a challenge and complete an Olympic distance triathlon and have entered the Leeds Triathlon in June. I will be doing open water swim of1.5k in Roundhay Park Lake (yuk!), followed by a 42km bike ride and to finish a 10km run (5 loops round Leeds) finishing in Millennium Square. At the same time I'd also like to raise money for a local registered charity which was set up by one of my daughters friends mum.
Fulfil the Wish is a registered charity, which was founded in 2000 by Mary Appleton, a registered nurse, to provide activity and sightseeing holidays for children and young people with disabilities and complex health needs.
Its volunteers have the ability and the experience to help people with even severe disabilities – and their families – to enjoy a holiday which will live long in their memories.
