Story

On Satuurday 4th August 2007 I completed my solo channel swim.

Despite the tide and wind not being on my side I completed the swim in 16 hours and 45 mins. I can't begin to explain what an amazing experience this was and I look forward to sharing more about it with you all.

Thank you for your support and sponsorship this was a huge source of inspiration during my swim.

I did it, I am a channel swimmer!

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Yes, you did read my e mail correctly this summer I will be greasing up, diving in and heading for France to complete the gruelling 22 mile channel swim. Under the watchful eye of my support crew I am unable to touch the boat and will only approach the team to receive regular feeds and hydration – critical in helping me fair the cold and maintain my endurance for what could be up to an 20 hour swim.

With the weather, tide and sea conditions beyond my control this challenge is massive, it requires huge resilience to the cold, the strength to swim through rough seas and the guidance of my pilot to dodge oil tankers in one of the busiest shipping lanes in the World. Not to mention the mental determination and focus required to complete this distance!

I have no doubt this will be one of the hardest and the greatest challengeI will ever attempt. More people have climbedMount Everest than successfully completed a solo channel crossing. At the end of 2006 only 262 Women had achieved this. Please dig deep and support me to achieve my life long ambition and raise money for such a great charity that is personally very important to me.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. Please donate generously in support of my Channel crossing attempt.

Thank you!
