Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last November I made up my mind to get fit and set my ultimate goal as doing a triathlon, (Overly ambitious I thought to myself even as I said it!). I have always enjoyed casual swimming and cycling but the running part well... was this even possible?
As a sufferer of MS for the past 7 years and a previous lifetime of being 'too busy' to go to the gym I really did not see how on earth I was going to be able to run. However, my sons' athletic coach changed all that when he presented me with a plan which said 'Day 1: Run 1min, Walk 2min' and it was these simple words which made me think 'ooh, I just might be able to do this!' 3 months down the line and I'm now getting excited over running for 30mins! It is such an amazing feeling being able to throw on a pair of trainers and leg it out of the door!
I am a firm believer that the only thing you have control over in life is you're attitude towards it. My MS has been a blessing to me as each time I lose the function of a part of my body, I realise just how I took it for granted before. Luckily my symptoms subside and it's like being given a second chance at life each time. I am also acutely aware that not everyone's experience of life with MS is the same as mine as my father has lived with it for the past 40 years. I am therefore wanting to take on the challenge of the great Manchester run in order to raise as much money as possible for the MS Society.
I really appreciate you taking the time to read my babble and if you could help me, even in the smallest way, to achieve my target I would be most grateful!
Thank you so much.... I won't let you down :)
