Calgary Humane Society: Dog Jog, a walk or jog to end animal cruelty · 3 June 2023 ·

Calgary Humane Society's annual Dog Jog, a walk or jog to help end animal cruelty, helps raise crucial funding to support life-saving programs focused on education, protection, rehabilitation and ultimately, a new beginning for animals in need.

Story

I love animals and have had many. Most notably is our puggle, DC/Darcy, who passed away from heart issues in February 2023. He was the most loving, loyal companion anyone could ever ask for. 2022 Dog Jog participants might remember him as the elderly black and white puggle barking in his stroller from non-stop excitement. In March 2021, he opened his home to two adult rescue pugs from Mexico, who we named Max and Chloe. Max and Chloe were dumped in a high kill shelter in December 2020 before finding their forever home with us in Calgary.

We will be participating in the 2023 Calgary Humane Society Dog Jog with Max and Chloe to help to provide all animals with the second chance that they were given.

If having a soul means being able to to feel love, loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans.
