Lyra’s lockdown challenge · 25 April 2020

At the Scottish Wildlife Trust, we deliver compelling advocacy, practical conservation and inspiring engagement activities, as well as managing over 100 wildlife reserves. We champion Scotland's wildlife in pursuit of our vision of healthy, resilient ecosystems across the country's land and seas.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We’d like to take this opportunity to teach Lyra a bit about fundraising and to challenge her to push herself a little harder to benefit others.  We have been isolating for 4 weeks due to presentation of CV Symptoms and are now able to go out for a daily walk. We’re aiming to give this time an added purpose and help to raise money for a great charity at the same time.

Having explained the concepts of charities and sponsored challenges we asked Lyra who she would like to raise money for.  Lyra said she wants to “help the animals”. She listed bumblebees, butterflies and birds. She also listed giraffes and tigers and elephants but we’ll do something for them another day! The Scottish Wildlife Trust do fantastic work and we’re delighted to help her to raise money for them.

Lyra has just turned 3 years old and this is her first proper fundraiser. 26 miles is a lot of walking for her little legs and will be completed in 1 or 2 mile instalments over the next few weeks of lock down.

Any support that you can show her would be fantastic and will help a valued charity at a time when they are losing a lot of donations.

Thanks!
