Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In February this year my Brother, Craig, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. After six months of regular chemotherapy he is now hopefully reaching the end of his journey and (fingers crossed) is on the road to remission.

Craig has handled this testing time with grace, dignity and tremendous spirit. I cannot begin to even try and convey the strength and humility he has shown over the last few months, he has been an inspiration.

I'm taking part in the Great South Run to raise money for Macmillan because during my many hospital visits throughout the chemotherapy regime I witnessed first hand the difference they make to peoples lives and the tireless commitment and dedication they show to their mission.

Needless to say, when someone you are very close to and love dearly goes through cancer it changes your perspective on things. I have thought very deeply about those of us who may be facing similar challenges but are not fortunate enough to have friends and family around them for help and support. It is those people for whom Macmillan are a source of refuge and strength, and for whom they can make all the difference in the tough times and the difficult moments.

I'm honoured and proud to be running for Team Macmillan and thrilled that my Brother will be running alongside me as well as my dear friends Adam Kimberley, Neil Mason and Teddy Shum (who are running for Leukemia & Lymphoma Research)

I have completed many running events for different charities but this will be the most personal and the most special...and doing it with all the rest of the lads will make it the most fun!
