I'm running Brighton Marathon for Dementia UK

Brighton Marathon 2021 · 12 September 2021 ·
I'm excited to be running my first ever marathon this September at Brighton (as well as London Marathon three weeks later). I'll be running it for a cause in Dementia UK very close to my heart and I'm sure many of yours too.
This year we lost my Grandad to Dementia. Grandad was, and still is one of my biggest inspirations in life; not just for how he fought this terrible illness, but for his athletic endeavours during his life. He wasn't a runner, but a cyclist; exploring the world on two wheels. Nevertheless, fitness was a big part of his life... just like it is mine.
The care that Grandad received in his final years while living with Dementia was brilliant and that's why I'm running the marathons raising money for Dementia UK; so that other Dementia sufferers and their families receive the same fantastic support from Admiral Nurses throughout what can be a truly heartbreaking and devastating time.
Any donations are hugely appreciated and if you feel happy to, please do share with me (either on here or privately) your own personal stories of loved ones lost or currently fighting Dementia. I will carry them in my thoughts throughout the 26.2 miles x 2.
Thank you,
MJ
